You shouldn't use a USB hard drive for games, or maybe even movies. It transfers data too slow. That's why the cutscenes were skipping. Get a network adapter, and a regular computer hard drive. Loads much much much faster and doesn't lag in the transfer rates.

Yes, I know USB 1.1 is a HUGE disadvantage to PS2, but I don't think USB 2.0 was created until like a year after PS2 launched.

If I install a game onto my 4 gb iPod and format is correctly (it's usb obviously) and get it to play with hdloader via the exploit I have on my mc will the gameplay be alright or will it be super bad. (the reason I'm using my old iPod is to see if it would be worth it to buy a much larger hdd later)

Um...I don't know. I don't exactly have a PS2 anymore. I think the actual gameplay will be fine, but loading times would be horrible, and many cutscenes would skip bad...You could still play fine though.

That's ok... I think, I formatted my iPod to fat32 and installed James Bond Nightfire onto it as a test since it's only 2.2 gb I believe. I have yet to try it out.

Nightfire should play fine. I don't know about loading times, as I never played it on the PlayStation. I played it on the GameCube. Actual gameplay should be fine, like I said, the cutscenes might skip.

I mean, when loading a backup from the hard drive...that I can see. But loading a cd using the usb exploit, wouldnt that screw up the motor?
