On The Map with Avi Lewis: John Bolton (full interview)

Uploaded by: OnTheMapwithAviLewis
Video Description:
The Iraq Oil Law... a little known document at the heart of the war. A law that would put the country's most valuable resource into the hands and wallets of foreign multinationals. Whether or not you believe it was the goal of the U.S. invasion in the first place, oil is key to Iraq's future. It's also key to U.S. plans for the country. Avi talks to John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the UN, who defends the controversial law.

Not meant to be rude or resort to simple name calling, the word "ignoramus" is used only as it's definition is applicable, with all respect.
what a worthless ... ( 1 year ago by jayface01)
what a worthless interview. he spent almost ten minutes asking about nothing but oil. as much as he seems to demonize oil companies, it seems like he's more focused on it than they are.

Please explain why US Oil execs gets to chair a made up "IRAQI Oil Council" and approve oil contracts to their own companies?!
When can we expect to see Iraqis or other nationals appointed to chair the Canadian National Energy Board or the US Department of Energy?

When you get your info from biased jacuzzi socialists like Avi, of course you will have a negative view of Iraq. Now if you actually had an accurate reporting of what goes on, instead of the political agenda driven shit like this, you might not be so rabidly anti-American.
Avi had Bolton ... ( 1 year ago by emperorinsaino)
Avi had Bolton scrambling. Bolton first said that the law would possibly divide the country into parts, then said the law would unite them because the country would unite to make the law! Is anyone else confused by that "logic"?

Why would socialists have negative views of the proceedings in Iraq?
Don't you think he has a good point when he talks about how handing over the allocation of the oil profits to oil companies is bad? Talk about incentive for corruption...

I think the obvious question is how can the U.S. or the big oil companies say that they are trying to to distribute the oil fairly and not for U.S. intertests when the invasion of Irac was a war crime?

It seems to me that all this "reconstruction" talk is nonsence. It's like some home contractor burning down a house just so he can rebuild it.

iraqis should nationalize their oil. it would be GENEROUS at this point for the iraqi people to ALLOW the occupation to withdraw rapidly and peacefully. GENEROUS. then they can hammer out what reparations they are owed for this MASSIVE TERRORIST ATTACK that has been perpetrated against them.

I suspect in the long run western oil companies will provided more revenue for Iraqis. Because the reserves are huge means that an effective long term production strategy means so much more. Iraqs state owned oil company had terrible long term production methods for their fields.

wow... in a talking head media world overrun with ignorant, clueless, hate-America socialists, Avi Lewis is really in class all by himself. He is incapable of moving beyond his sixth-grade understanding of the world and leftist canards, as Bolton acknowledges by his line, "I am going to say this one more time & maybe the audience will understand...", meaning, because obviously you never will.
What an ignorant ass.

Bolton is such an asshole
Yes, the Iraqis have the responsibility for their country, but for the US to so quickly want to wash its hands of Iraq is purely brought on by political pressure.
Bolton should get his house accidentally bombed, and see what it feels like to bring war to someone else's home.
