Just because he feels good about doing the show, and he doesn't feel that its offensive, doesn't make it right. Sure he's making good money, and getting to do what he wants (acting). But he's still getting exploited. Just because a stripper thinks its empowering to strip doesn't mean she's not being exploited for money.
The show doesn't have great writing, the only reason people laugh at the show is because the kid is retarded. He's somewhat being laughed at rather than laughed with.

Hey, I'm no one of those people that make fun of the Mentally challenged kids/adults. I had a friend that was Mentally Challenged, but he moved. I will miss him, but I feel they fit in just as well as other people, but some people are really arrogant and mean, and just go to these people for a laugh, I've seen it happen many times, but I don't watch this with the thought, "Oh! That's so funny because he has Downs!" It just makes me laugh and I enjoy it. Thanks for your time.

I don't think it's us, I have watched every one of these episodes and I find them hilarious.
People find it amusing that amazing that a guy with Down syndrome is capable of such talents because most of the time people think their goals are crushed at birth and this guy has fought himself to do this and is very successful now and it is his career. Or are you jealous you could never be this great of a person or actor?

I am a huge fan of Josh (Ponce) and I was excited to see this interview of him with no script or brother. But after 7 minutes of crap, I was disappointed that there was only 3 minutes of Ponce and 10 minutes of well... not so funny of stuff. To anyone watching, skip to 7:00 and watch until 10:04. the rest is hard to get through.

I fully 'get' that Josh "Ponceman" Perry has the same *right* to have fun and to laugh at himself as anyone else.
If he was having a laugh at the fact that he's short (lacking height stature) somehow I doubt you (or many short people for that matter) would be all up in arms about this. I not only 'get' very well what he's done and why he does it, but I also 'get' his humor

you need to stop taking liberties and making assumptions for this guy's 'benefit' (term used very loosely) that he clearly does *not* want or need *you* to make - I highly suggest you take a little time for a little introspection to review your ideas about what concepts like 'acceptance' 'equality' and 'inclusion' *really* mean.

People like you piss me off, you people are the ones who remind us he's retarded, sure the first episode I was focusing on the fact that he is retarded, but after I got over that, I was able to laugh at the show, not him. And just because someone may be exploiting someone else, doesn't make it bad, at the end of the day it's how the person feels about what they're doing, this guy isn't being forced into this, he chooses to do it, and can quit anytime he wants.

My problem isn't completely with the pure fact that he's retarded. Though I don't think its nice to use a retarded guy for your own personal gain. But if he can make good money, and do what he wants, and doesn't care that ok. (I said that before)
My biggest problem is they aren't very funny. All they do is put him in a cop uniform and say something retarded to someone.

I'm not saying exploitation is good, just that if the person you see as being exploited doesn't mind, then who cares. And this guys parents have appeared in the show, so they know that the brains behind the show is legit. And it's a little more than a retarded guy saying silly things, they often parody how police are seen (episodes 4, 8, 14) and some have nothing to do with him being retarded and would be funny with or without a retarded guy (episode 15).

Again its good he can be successful even though he's retarded, and he's doesn't care. It also good the parents (depending on if they are using him or not) don't have a problem. For him it works out, he gets to act, and do whatever.
And I bet the people that make his bad movies don't intent to exploit him, or think the things they write are funny.
