The gas price in Europe has litte to do with the unemployment rate. There are a number of parameters in play but gas prices are minor there. Several extremely poor countries have gas prices lower than the US. That doesn´t make them more economically performant than the US.

He was just an anchorman who delivered the weather segment, and he saw the opportunity for a cable network to deliver the weather news, as a business venture. Again, he has NO credibility as a meteorologist or scientist of any kind. He is to meteorological and earth sciences as Rush Limbaugh is to Constitutional scholarship; he's a pundit, not an expert.

According to its own website, only 3,697 of the signatories have degrees in relevant fields (climatology, meteorology, etc.) and the majority of relevant signatories have only BS or MS degrees. Most signatories are dentists, nurses and other "science professionals". Nor does the petition show which of them have a conflict of interest (such as being employed in industries that benefit from unregulated emissions.) Compare them with the UCC.

RamandoDMag -- Compare that petition list with the far more relevant scientists and organizations who agree that Anthropogenic Climate Change is real: EVERY national and international scientific body concerning the environment. EVERY nation. Even many industry organizations, many of whom would suffer economically if changes were required to deal with ACC, such as the 160,000 member American Chemical Society! Predictably, the loudest critics of ACC are those who profit from permitting pollution.

Although most Americans are aware of the need to reduce their carbon footprints, adequate CO2 mitigation will only be possible by societal action rather than individual decisions. This will include a need to let gasoline rise to its natural price, higher than today, but if consumers are spared hiddens costs - oil industry tax breaks and environmental cleanup costs - they will come out ahead not only environmentally, through replacement of fossil fuels by renewables, but also economically.
