I still think that Sutherland wasn't at her best shape that night, although she sings brilliantly, she was struggling!

Thanks.Regarding Sutherland's performance,I mentioned briefly in one of my earlier clips of this concert,how,following a solo piece, as she was leaving the stage she put her hand up to her throat, and smiled.I don't know if this was an indication of some difficulties regarding her throat.

I agree Sutherland may not be at her best in this duet; Devia's performance with Pavarotti (on youtube) is better. Nonetheless, Sutherland's singing that night was admirable. As for Pavarotti, he is superb. I don't recall any other modern tenor singing this with as much passion and beauty of line, with the exception of Tucker.
