This is really offending. I'm Deaf and all the signs in this movie are made-up.
This is truly insulting that you didn't bother to learn ASL (american sign language).
If you thought the signs are accurate, you're wrong.

I agree... the first episode was good (but not excellent) and the second was okay, but it seems like they've just given up now that they have a following. I mean, they didn't even attempt to use real sign language. =\

Ok the song in the beauty parlor was funny, especially the expired vagina sign -- she signed vagina and then did the movement for an expired license or credit cart, which was fantastic, because it made me think of, like, vagina currency and it sent me off in hilarious directions, but then...well, it could've been sooooooo much funnier, but it just...died...how sad.

I don't think they ... ( 4 months ago by jodeviv)
I don't think they meant to offend - the point they tried to make was that Jake thought he was learning ASL from the hair dresser but in fact was not, and therefore his performance was a bust. Actors are expected to know and do anything and everything - dye their hair, learn a new language - for each performance, but often without any support, pay or training from the people that hire them. The frustrations of the acting profession are what this series is all about, hence "The Battery's Down."
