Db Ab Db Gb Bb Eb tuning, Brad's part in this song is just a tiny bit more interesting than Mike's. He opens the song with a little 3-note clean part, but quickly goes into what I consider the most repetitive and boring guitar part in any LP song: From 0:41 to 2:17, Brad palm-mutes the 2nd fret on the low Db string constantly. Only Brad Delson could get away with playing one note for over a minute and a half! Then from the 2nd pre-chorus through the bridge, he goes back into the clean part that starts the song. I know it sounds a little strange hearing him play that clean melodic line during the chorus where Mike has all those crunchy powerchords, but trust me, that's really how the song is played. Finally, at 3:32, the fun part kicks in. It's just octaves, but it's probably my favorite octave line that Brad has ever used in a song. It really gives the final chorus a big climactic feel.
I played to the Live in Texas version of this just because I think it sounds better, the palm-muted guitar parts are really buried in the mix on Reanimation. Nothing's played any differently from how it is on the studio version.
