Can i also quickly mention, you dont need your homepage ranking on the keyword to get good traffic, if you have a good page ranking on it, you can get good traffic.
so, gurubob chose 'guitar' as his keyword but wanted to reach out to the 'vintage guitar' community, just make a good page on it about vintage guitars and you could also get traffic that way.

Hehehehe - I think the guys who developed this program added some jokes into it... eg., I was looking up keyword prases, and one VERY UNRELATED phrase I got back was "kangaroo meat"

If so, you could compete there. 68,600 pages have "kangaroo meat" on them, but they may not even be optimized of those terms. You can find out how many competing sites exist for that phrase, and figure out whether you can compete.
