I hate to spoil the mood but I thought I would weigh in on this song. My mom died when I was six years old of leukemia. This is a sweet and touching song, but I have to say that the last thing I was thinking about was shoes. I understand the sentiment, I really do. But that's not how that goes down.

the sentiment about the shoes is in the movie his mom speaks how when she was younger she had these shoes that she would dance in, and they made her feel so amazing like she was flying, so thats why he thought of the shoes! its truly one of those things that you need to watch the movie for if you havnt, but thats why he was thining shoes, one last gift to make her feel just as good as she did before. It was truly an amazing sentiment!
