I must say that ... ( 1 week ago by TigerDan04)
I must say that growing up and hearing stereotypes over, and over, and over makes me wonder what the goal of all this understanding and equality truly is? I mean, we are not inherently equal, so are we not just perpetuating stereotypes by grouping and labeling everything we see everywhere? I fear a homogenous world and hope that we can all learn to live well being ourselves and enriching one another with our unique perspectives. That having been said, everyone stop being so goddamn sensitive.

Why do you think Jehovah gave the ability to birth to women - because we are an honorable vessel! the world is far from perfect and NO human can make it perfect.
Very positive vid.
Queen Rania, Sudan ... ( 1 week ago by abdullahthebutcher)
Queen Rania, Sudan is not an Arab country. The original, true people of Sudan are Nubian. Nubia was a matriarchial society 3,000 years ago. Those themes are still present in the modern country, so it is no surprise that women have rights. There were and are no matriarchial societies any where in the Arab world. Long live Nubia!
The Koran just as ... ( 1 week ago by LadyAmaz)
The Koran just as any Holy book should be read in the context of the time it was written in. Does anyone not realise that??
If it was written today the language would be completely different. The Islamic Jihad were roaming free then and had a cause.. I think people should look up their History and it will help understand the context of the book... as I said.. if it was written today.. there would not be such words as slay.. the aim was to convert by any means...

Well I actually have neighbors from Jordan, and they are the kindest, and most friendly neighbors we have ever had by far. But the sad part is that the husband has beaten his wife on occasion. We have never gone to the police but it is sad, and I feel like it is something that does need to be addressed especially in a modernized country like Jordan. I hope people do not see this as a stereotype, but address the issue.

Is it true that if an Arab/Muslin woman gets raped she is then stoned by the men like it was her fault? I just heard this and it made me feel sick. I just want to know if it's true.
Agreed; people need ... ( 1 week ago by PersianPaladin)
Agreed; people need to read the book "The rights of women in Islam" by Ali Asghar Engineer. It gives a good synopsis of the difference between contextual and normative statements in the Quran regarding this issue. It is also important to realise that Shariah was a human project and is not divinely fixed; the doors of Itjihad need to be re-opened.

I feel that ... ( 6 days ago by bluerocck)
I feel that although the laws are changing in favor of women's rights, the problem still lies in the mentallity of the average people. If through centuries you have been tought that men are superior and its of to disciple women through violence, it is difficult to change that view. Even for the women, I'm sure there are many women who still feel if they do something bad they deserve to be beaten
