he's talking about more than hip hip culture. He is talking about saving humanity. He is talking about uplifting the consciousness of humanity. He is talking about using your heart to find your own path. All those names he dropped were people who turned the frequencies of our reality into songs, paintings, all art, and Love (twice)
This man wants to speak out to get people to uplift each other. Notice how he doesn't mention himself during the whole piece. He is doing his best for fucking real.

Excellent question! Indeed, it is impossible to point out someone elses ego without using your own. The ego, as an idea, is what separates the artist from the critic. My commentary on Saul's "poetry" is coming from the perspective of a critic. This is the central theme in T.S. Eliot's "The Sacred Wood". According, to drone81 he is "wrong" but I respectfully disagree.
