This is boring. ... ( 1 year ago by weters)
This is boring. These video artists are such hacks. She belongs in the same league as Douglas Gordan at Paul McCarthy and I mean that in a bad way. They keep doing the same thing over and over again without any kind of originality or creativity.

Who says they keep doing the same thing over and over? All three are doing work now that is far from identical to their work of the seventies. As for the question of boredom, I find it interesting that work that seems in some sense to be boring or repetitive is often implicitly placed in opposition to "original" and "creative" work--but this debate has been going on since the sixties, and this isn't really the place to take it up.

I think it is quite incorrect to discuss contemporary art in such categories as "boring" and "original". It has his own specifical way which is different in re from for instant antic art or "classical" art.

Its quite obvious that when someone labels something as boring that this someone knows very little about which he/she is talking about. Marina Abramovic's work is exciting and powerful. Do a little research before you lash out with your vulgar comments.

Some of us don't need to see others doing nothing in order to think. Some of us, do that on the bus, on the work, all day. For those of us, who have the time to look inside, your "exciting and powerful" Abramovic becomes quite boring.

i find it so funny when people who dont like performance art are always lashing at it, calling it boring and ridiculous, but at the same time, they are always watching. i honestly doubt that i could have bring my self to witness the 17 hours of their performance, but then you see, they only presented 1 hour to the audience, and registered the rest to edit and later present in video format. i think this piece is very powerful in terms of visual language.

to anybody who is familiar with abramovic´s work, they know that her earlier work was intimately related to her personal relationship with Ulay, her long time partner, and they explore the boundaries on time, body, persistence, interaction (with one another, and the audience) but to get back at the "boring" thing, could you actually say that a video that lasts only 2 minutes is so desperatly boring? i mean, you can always switch to the next. just my opinion.

One can say the same about you wasting your time writing this comment. It's all about expression, you expressed your opinion here, the artists performed theirs there.

and the rest of us who take time to see a work of Abramovic for instance so to have a experience of that kind ( or as you oh so eloquently put it "to think") must not think in other times. That would be as if you said that those who make things, or work at all don't have time to think or don't think, but only those who don't do nothing - think.
And even if one ... ( 10 months ago by elviskrstulovic)
And even if one would agree with that than Abramovic must have been thinking a lot while "not doing anything".
And also, by not being physically active does not mean that they did not do anything. Everyone feels obliged to say their thoughts on art, even though they never involved themselves into it. Thats what I don't like. That must be cause i can't think 'cause Marina washed up my brain.
