i got myself a 15" dell monitor but it has a power supply inside of it. is that bad if i want to make a projector out of it? and when i disassembled it to only the lcd panel and these two circuit boards there seems to be a problem... if you or anyone could help me with this would be very nice. i should take some pictures of my monitor.

this isn't exactly cheap if you have to buy an lcd monitor and a projector to make this..plus you need to disassemble the lcd is not really easy for everybody.

except
an overhead projector can cost from like $100 to about $500. A projection screen tv can cost from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars.
A new projector that you can easily hook up to a laptop, desktop computer, dvd player, or vhs player costs at least $250 and up.
So depending on what materials you use, the new digital projector might be a better choice.

actually you could probably make one of those overhead prejectors pretty easily too.. you just need a light in a box with a clear top and 2 mirrors suspended above that

yeh i've done the same thing with a OHP, but my lcd was for a laptop, and they like to save space meaning the electronics PCB is halfway down the back the glass/transistor/glass section, casting a nasty shadown. I broke that now, when I picked it up at the corner.
Anyone know where I can get a cheap LCD screen which will work fine for a setup like this.
