I don't know much, but I think, that this song clarifies Joel's position.
Listen especially to the 2nd line of his text ("blue suits and bankers"), if you are really interested in Joels opinion in all this. I think, Joel tries to be honest.

Well, your personal page seems to me very sophisticated and worked out. But I don't want to understand your stuff. On the grave of Dag Hammarskjöld is written (according to wikipedia): "Not me, but god in me". That's simple, easy to understand, directly spoken.
But, for me, that's odd enough. I don't want to hear anything more of your stuff. I don't want to have clarified what you mean.

My page was very simple and clear.
Mine was only an ironical interpretation of the song. Nothing more than this.
Maybe you don't find it ironical or maybe you are not so mentally free as to have that minimum sense of humour which would allow you to just sit for a minute and laugh about it too. And... yes, my philosophy of life seems extremely sophisticated to many and as easy as plain of water to a few. But this depends on the eyes of those who interpret it.
