hd-dvd lost the format war. end story. europe has 5 times as many hd dvd players as stand alone blu-ray players yet there have been over 30 times more blu-ray disks bought than hd-dvd movies. source: ign

IF they are making 1080p hd dvds, you need to buy that hd dvd drive, and if you buy a ps3, you will get the 1080p hd (blu-ray) with it, so i will choose the ps3 if i were you.

I Don't really care that much, that HD DVD won't be around much longer. I'm am going to buy a Blueray player in the distant future (when DVD is dying).
But for now, I enjoy waching HD DVD's on my 360. .. and since I got my player for 100 bucks, I'm pretty happy with it. :)
